“Re-Think Re-Form is based on creative freedom,

where unimaginable ideas come together in perfect harmony. Art and design are approached from abroad perspective, blurring the lines between culinary arts, ceramics, textiles, and furniture. These more-than-objects absorbed with a life of their own and crafted locally by a diverse group of makers converge in an unexpected dinner party. It’s a fairytale, a meeting place, and a starting point to re-think and re-form the future of the creative arts—an inviting universe that evolves and layers into new beings and expressions”

–Hanna-Kaisa Korolainen

In the P&P002 and P&P003 lights the glass dome is pressed against another material, just hanging and flowing.

The lights can be seen at the Re - Think Re - Form exhibition during the Helsinki Design Week. The exhibition is in Kallio, Helsinki, at Studio Bom’s premises. @studiobomhelsinki

COLLABORATION

The first collaboration together with Jalkanen & Keski-Pomppu will be launching in spring 2024. A series of objects will be created, with focus on local Finnish materials and in craftsmanship.

As the first work, we create a series of lights and the focus is on local materials. The lights are handcrafted from Finnish red clay, shaped into an organic form. The clay comes from the neighboring village of Päivi Keski-Pomppu’s childhood home. The clay is worked by hand in our own workspace. The glass part was made in cooperation with a glassblower in a small village in Kiikoinen and Riihimäki.

Collection contains a lights made of steel, red clay and glass.

The focus is a dialogue of materials, a combination of cold, industrial steel, warm tones of red clay and the shape of the glass blown by the glassblowers. It gives the objects an interesting conversation, it tell a story.

All the products are sculptural, and play at the interface between art and product.
